Mother’s Day Sunday Brunch: Booker and Ben

Booker and Ben

Looking for the best Mother’s Day Sunday brunch & Jazz in Denver? May 12th, 10-2pm, La Cour, French Restaurant & Jazz Club, presents Booker and Ben.

This guitar-percussion duo with vocals delivers a swamp blues-infused jazzy dish of Americana at it’s finest. The songs of Bessie Smith and Fats Waller, Johnny Cash and the Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead and Ben Harper all receive a unique and charming treatment by these seasoned professionals who have performed on stages and festivals throughout the world. Three-time Best of Westword Winner David Booker has performed with Bo Diddly, Dr John, and Rufus Thomas and has led his own bands in Colorado for the past 37 years. Jazz drummer Ben Makinen toured with Broadway shows and on cruise ships before coming to Colorado to play percussion with the Central City Opera, the Colorado Symphony and Denver’s top jazz artists. Together Booker & Ben share their enthusiasm for roots music in an intimate setting unique to La Cour Art Bistro and Cabaret.

We believe Live Jazz should be as accessible as possible. As always there is no cover charge.
