Patrick Lee Trio

On any given night with the Patrick Lee Trio, you’ll find them chasing the spirit of the hard swinging ’50s & ’60s classic piano trios: chaining together tunes by Dave Brubeck, Ahmad Jamal, and Oscar Peterson alongside a string of their own daring originals. The demand for Lee’s music has led to independent radio play from Santa Barbara (KCSB 91.9) to Tokyo (Radio Forest 76.3) as well as a featured artist segment on NPR’s Here & Now. Lee is a Colorado native, a graduate of CU’s jazz department, and teaches piano at Metropolitan State in Denver. He has also released over 30 albums of music influenced by sampling culture, cassettes, records, collages, field recordings, hip-hop, and electronic music.

Myra Warren Trio

Myra Warren

When we are open there’s Jazz! March 3rd  7-10pm, La Cour, French Bistro & Jazz Club, presents  Myra Warren Trio.

Myra Warren’s singing venture began in early 1980’s when she was invited by renown saxophone player Billy Tolles and popular Denver organist Al “Hammond” Moore to do a gig with them at the Mall Exchange, which was located downtown on the corner of 16th & Lawrence Street. After that, Myra continued doing gigs with these two musicians and their various accompanists over the years. She stopped gigging for almost 10 years and then re-surfaced after an invite from Denver pianist and jazz historian, Purnell Steen, to sing at Dazzle Jazz. Myra sang that first Friday in January, 2011 and has been enjoying the gift of music, again, since then!

An Evening of Appreciation with Jim Monley, Brothers, Sister and Friends

My name is Jim Monley, and I hope you will join me Sunday, January 26th from 7-10 at La Cour.  I’ve written a number songs I would like to share, as well as some familiar tunes ranging from Brazilian Jazz to Country.

The music I offer up reflects my experiences of growing up in a very large and loving family.  This is magnified even more because many of the musicians performing with me are part of my family, namely Julie, Andy, and Greg Monley.

In a nut shell, I hope to offer the wonderful clientele of La Cour music that is filled with the appreciation of family, friends and life to come in the new year and beyond.

      A votre santé!

Three Little Words

Three Little Words

When we are open there’s Jazz! September 5th 7-10pm, La Cour, French Bistro & Jazz Club, presents  Three Little Words.

Three Little Words

Glenn Taylor, Mark Harris and Mike Fitzmaurice, three of Colorado’s most accomplished instrumentalists/composers. In this ensemble, they open their mouths and sing together some of the most subtle, velvety rich harmonies to be heard anywhere live on Earth. The material includes arrangements of songs from times gone by as well as aspects of the present moment not usually imagined…. They are more or less pretty good at maintaining this deadpan expression – not so their audiences!
