Alicia Baker

Looking for the best Sunday brunch & Jazz in Denver? Sunday Brunch January 13th 10-2pm, La Cour, French Restaurant & Jazz Club, Alicia Baker & Alex Heffron.

Alicia Baker, has been performing on the accordion professionally for many years with International accordion championship titles under her belt.  Her musical versatility is astounding, performing styles that range from standard jazz and Parisienne cafe, to pop and techno. Alicia’s real uniqueness comes from her classically trained accordion technique in combination with her classically trained voice. She graduated from OSU in 2013 with three bachelor of music degrees; vocal performance, piano performance, and music education.  Originally from Portland, Oregon, Alicia is currently working on her master of music degree in vocal performance and pedagogy at CU Boulder. She also works part-time for Roland Corporation, where she demonstrates digital pianos and accordions all over the country as her schedule permits. Check out her website for recordings and more information: www.aliciajobaker.com

Alex Heffron is a young guitarist working on becoming fluent in the language of Jazz. He started from a young age working with many great jazz educators. Currently a student at the University of Colorado Boulder, he is working on developing his skills as a Jazz and Classical guitar player. This project will be presenting many of his original compositions as well as songs that have inspired him during the years he has had to hone his craft.

Alicia and Alex make a dynamite duo between their individual mastery of accordion and guitar. They love to play jazz standards, gypsy jazz, and parisiene-inspired music. The two are well known in Boulder amongst the jazz jam scene.
