Making jazz as accessible as possible and helping keep the Denver Jazz Scene ALIVE!

Linda Theus-Lee’s musical journey has been on a continuum since a very young age. A native of Los Angeles, California and born into a musical family her musical roots started early by studying dance and theatre, and by watching her older siblings create music with original ideas and creative expressions. Theus-Lee, first love was dancing, but then as time moved on she found herself with the love of singing. She says “I’ve always had an affinity to sing and create at a young age.” She feels that her passion and style is a gift from God that needs to be embraced, and celebrated.

Having toured the world wherever her voice took her, she arrived in Denver 16 years ago. She has played throughout Denver, including performing the National Anthem at the Pepsi Center for the Denver Nuggets, her one woman show entitled “Rea’s Story” at the Crossroads Theatre, and even opened for Kenny “BabyFace” Edmonds when he performed at the Grant Amphitheater in Clement Park in Littleton, Colorado 2011.

Theus-Lee’s musical creativity lives in vocal Jazz, Blues, Musical Theatre and R&B. In addition she is also a very talented percussionist, and loves writing songs on her guitar. She loves family and friends and holds a Master of Social Science degree with emphasis in Education and Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. Linda’s ongoing commitment is to empower students about how important they are, and about the importance of education in their lives!

When we are open there’s Jazz! December 11th  7-10pm, La Cour, French Bistro & Jazz Club, presents  Gregg Corbin Quartet.

Holidays and Jazz – could there be a more joyful mix?  Enjoy an evening of jazz standards and holiday favorites that will swing you into the season!

Irving Berlin, Mel Torme, Gene Autry, and Rogers and Hammerstein have given us a songbook of beloved Christmas gifts.  The chance to share their music and the joy it brings is one of the best things about the holidays.

Gregg Corbin was a former music student who had been singing first tenor in a Denver church choir for a few years when he happened into a jazz club one Friday at lunchtime … and discovered a whole new devotion.  The next week, the club owner hooked him up with the band, and he began developing his style as a jazz singer.  In the 9 years since then, Gregg has performed with many Denver area trios and quartets.   For this show, he’s joined by John Hayden on piano, Blake Eberhard on bass, and Dave Jackson on drums.
