In addition she is also a very talented percussionist, and loves writing songs on her guitar. She loves family and friends and holds a Master of Social Science degree with emphasis in Education and Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. Angela & Kevin Klemm
The Klemm Duo with special guest Travis Kornegay

The Klemm Duo is comprised of Kevin Klemm at the piano and Angela Klemm on Vocals. They hail from the midwest but has made Denver their home since the summer of 2015. Inspired by the growing music scene and the reputation of the Lamont School of Music, the decision to move to Denver was an easy one.

Angela received a Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Akron in Ohio in 2014. She began teaching voice and piano lessons in the depths of her time in undergrad and is now a full time teacher at Avanti Music Academy in Highlands Ranch. Career-driven, Angela became the Head of the Voice department at AMA and has a full studio of voice and piano students during the week.

Kevin earned a B.M. in Piano Performance from the University of Akron in 2015 and just completed his M.M. in Jazz Studies from DU, studying with the ever venerable Eric Gunnison. He opened Kevin Klemm Studio this year and is growing his business in the Denver/Englewood area.

The pair has been involved in musical pursuits together since the beginning and have found that jazz music is what they enjoy performing together. Influenced by music from the turn of the century through the 90s, snippets of Rock ’n Roll, Musical Theater, Motown, Disco and Grunge make frequent appearances in their repertoire.

Travis Kornegay
Travis Kornegay has made an extensive and eclectic career in the music world.  He has spent 22 years in church music, over 10 years teaching at the university and college level, and 10 years teaching in public and charter schools. He has performed with opera and symphonic organizations in over 5 countries for ambassadors and other officials from around the world. Prior to working on his doctorate at the University of Northern Colorado, Travis obtained his Master of Music from Kansas State University where he studied piano and voice and his Bachelor of Music degree from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC.  While at Methodist University, Travis won many community and university awards, including the Camille Chaminade Award and he was the first recipient of the Cumberland County Oratorio Award.  He is currently music director at Lakewood United Church of Christ and is an elementary school teacher in Fort Lupton, Colorado.

Acclaimed for his rich mellow tenor voice, Travis continues to make a name for himself by singing in coffee houses, opera houses, churches, and other concert venues. His influences included, Kevin Mahogany, D’anglo, Steve Wonder,  Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Jill Scott, Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau, just to name a few.  He is excited to have the opportunity to work with the Klemm Duo.
